Job specification

The Coach reports directly to the Director of Player Development and assists him in serving the  coaching, development and public relations activities of the Hong Kong Tennis Association.

The candidate should be a US College graduate, have been an NCAA tennis player “All American”  preferred, have a good knowledge in Collegiate tennis requirements for D1, D2 and D3 admission, good known coaching qualifications with several years experience in the coaching field, experience working in a US college would be an advantage.

He/she should be available to travel, be flexible and able to work under pressure, speak and write good English.

 

His/Her areas of responsibility

1) To work with the Director of Player Development to design, plan, co-ordinate and implement training programmes for players who wish to follow the path towards a college scholarship.

2) To evaluate and report on the progress of the player(s) against the training programmes and defined targets, to observe them during tournaments and to take necessary technical action with Director of Player Development to improve their performance. 

3) To advise the players and assist them towards their choice of a college or university.

4) To travel with and supervise the player(s) to overseas tournaments and college “roadshows”. 

5) To occasionally support the coaching committee by taking part in and co-ordinating supplementary activities such as coaches workshops, coaches seminars etc.

6) To help supervise the standards of any part-time coaches working with your team and to appraise their performance implement necessary improvements.

7) Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time by the Director of Players Development

 

Salary and conditions of service

1) A contract lasting two years with a monthly salary of US$4,500.
  
2)     Medical Insurance coverage.

3)    Annual leave of 12 working days per year

4)    Mandatory Provident Fund
